A trip to Côte for me, consists of lots of easy drinking wine and many courses complete with little ‘gluten free’ flags (literally!) It’s great to see the flags arriving with each course, as it’s reassuring to know that it really is gluten free and marked so by the kitchen!
My first course was the Prawn Gratinée. I’m a total fan of seafood, so this seemed like the perfect opening choice. If you order this from the main menu (the non-gluten free version) you get this served with bread. Gluten free, it comes with just the prawns in a white wine, garlic, chilli and tomato sauce. It was really lovely, but I do hope they start to serve it with an alternative gluten free side as you need something to mop up all the delicious sauce…
Next up for a main, I ordered the absolutely stunning Roast Duck Breast. The roasted duck comes served beautifully and served pink, with gratin potato and a griottine cherry sauce. It is absolutely divine and no changes are needed to make it gluten free from the main menu, so you don’t feel like you are missing out on anything!
Lastly, I wanted to finish the night on a sweet note, but something of a small portion. I decided on a very rich Chocolate Pot which was very indulgent, but oh so good. It is served in a cute little pot, with soft, smooth dark chocolate and topped with crème fraîche.
Love and no-gluten, Alex x
